The Catholic Vision of Social Life
Catholic social teaching is not an appendage to the Faith or a collection of changing political policies. It applies the truths of revelation, natural law, and Christian philosophy to the institutions and relationships through which human beings live together.
Its concern extends from the person and family to labor, property, education, political authority, economic life, peace among nations, and the proper relationship between Church and State. In every sphere, society must respect the dignity of the human person while directing its members toward the common good.
The books gathered here recover this tradition through papal encyclicals, theological studies, historical examples, and practical reflections on the social order.
